Brett Ames
Managing Principal
Brett Ames is the founder and a managing member for Inspire Development. He currently manages Land Acquisition, Project Entitlement, Strategic Planning and is involved in all phases of development. Brett additionally is the President and CEO of Ames Design Build, one of Austin’s premier luxury builders. A resident of Austin, Brett has considerable experience in California and other areas in the greater Southwest USA.
With over 30 years of combined experience in land development, vertical, and horizontal construction of all types, Brett has a diverse background in all aspects of the Commercial Real Estate Industry. Brett began his Career in Commercial Construction working in San Diego for 10 years. He later started McCullough Ames Development which became one of San Diego’s elite Developer and Builder of high-end estate developments. He was also a managing partner in Passarelle LLC which developed several large Commercial projects including a master-planned campus development for Palomar College. He also worked in the master-planned mixed-use project of 750 single family lots with a Town Center and Office complex which is currently under construction with DR Horton. Brett has done over 20 projects together with the other partners of Inspire giving the team broad depth, experience, and diversity in its approach and reach in the real estate development industry.
Bruce Tabb
Managing Principal
Bruce Tabb is a founder and managing member for Inspire Development. Bruce is also President of Environmental Development, a real estate development firm with holdings throughout the western United States. A graduate of the University of Colorado with a degree in finance and real estate, Mr. Tabb earned his Juris Doctor from Pepperdine University School of Law.
In 1980, after practicing real estate law for a number of developers in Denver, Colorado, Mr. Tabb accepted a position with LaSalle Partners, Inc., a full-service real estate company based in Denver. During his tenure at LaSalle, he was involved in the development of over two million square feet of office space and the purchase and financing of an additional one million square feet.
In January 1986, Mr. Tabb formed Environmental Development and moved to San Diego to develop Symphony Towers, a 1.2 million square foot mixed-use development, in partnership with the Charlton Raynd Company. In 1988, Environmental Development began acquiring and entitling raw land for commercial, industrial and residential development. Since that time, Mr. Tabb and related entities have acquired or developed real estate projects throughout California, Colorado, Arizona, and Texas.
Mr. Tabb is a member of the State Bar of Colorado, the State Bar of California, the Building Industry Association of San Diego County and the Urban Land Institute. In addition, Mr. Tabb is on the Board of the University of Colorado School of Real Estate and is a past Board member of the Building Industry Association of San Diego County.
Jeff Hawkes
Managing Principal
Jeff Hawkes is a founder and managing member for Inspire Development. Jeff has extensive experience in all aspects of real estate from acquisition, finance, entitlement, development, construction, operations, asset management, and disposition. Jeff acquired his first garden-style apartment project in 1987 in San Diego. Currently, Jeff is directly responsible for the development, acquisition, and management of an apartment portfolio of approximately 3,000 units in seven western US states. Jeff’s entitlement, development and construction projects include residential, retail, office, senior housing, and multi-family housing.
Jeff also has extensive corporate business and finance experience which he uses to drive the vision and business direction of his real estate operations. Jeff had a twenty-three-year career in the financial services industry. In the early 1980’s Jeff practiced personal financial planning as a Certified Financial Planner. Jeff taught hundreds of seminars to the public on personal financial management, including real estate investment. Jeff was also a lecturer at a national level teaching other Certified Financial Planning practitioners’ financial analysis, investment and practice management skills.
Bryonny Van Camp
Chief Financial Officer
Bryonny has over 16 years of experience in accounting and the construction management industry. She primarily focuses on business agreements, deal structures, project financing, financial, and tax accounting for the company. Bryonny has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and was previously a Senior Audit Associate at KPMG.
Bryce Tabb
Director of Development
Bryce plays an instrumental role on land acquisition, entitlements and development operations at Inspire Development. He joined Inspire Development in February of 2018 after gaining valuable experience as an Associate at Trammell Crow Residential. During his time at Trammell Crow Residential, Bryce focused on acquisitions, entitlements and development of cutting edge multifamily projects. Bryce realized his passion for development while attending the University of Colorado at Boulder for his degree in Business. Since then, Bryce has endeavored to be at the forefront of land planning and development movements that create habitats designed to inspire the people who use them for generations to come. Bryce embraces the complexities of land entitlements and excels at finding the answers to development questions that are often seen as unknown.
Ross LyBrand
Director of Construction
Ross serves as Director of Construction for Inspire Development. He brings a variety of Construction and Real Estate Development experience including project management, construction management, real estate brokerage, contract negotiation, subcontractor management, and customer service. Since 2007 Ross has managed construction on single family homes, condominiums, and multifamily projects, in addition to portfolio management and real estate brokerage and development in Austin and Houston. Ross holds a Masters Degree in Management from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University and is a Veteran of the US Air Force.
